Opiz, Philipp Maximilián
Born June 5, 1787, in čáslav; died May 20, 1858, in Prague. Bohemian botanist. Opiz, who studied botany as a hobby, collected a large herbarium and published numerous works on the flora of Bohemia, laying the foundations for further floristic studies in that country.
