Optic Analyzer
the complex neural receptor system providing the perception and analysis of visual stimuli in man and animals. An optic analyzer is a principal analyzer, consisting of the eyes’ photoreceptors and connecting neurons, conducting pathways (the optic nerve and optic tract), and nerve cells located at various levels of the central nervous system—in the retina, the mesencephalon, diencephalon, and finally in the occipital lobe of the cerebral cortex.
