Tokyo, Japan, Oct 25, 2005 - (JCNN) - Sumitomo Osaka Cement has developed Clearas F-Filter (Hybrid-4), a plasma display panel (PDP) optical filter made of a single sheet of PET (polyethylene terephthalate) film.
An optical filter is then employed to select the spectral region of the incident optical radiation that strikes the detector.
The same principle can be applied in constructing thin-film optical filters that screen out all but a specified wavelength of light.
