Optika i spektroskopiia has been published since 1956 in Leningrad. It publishes original articles in all branches of optics, spectroscopy, applied optics, and optical engineering. It is aimed toward scientific workers, teachers in higher educational institutions, engineers, and college students. The chief editor is corresponding member S. E. Frish (since 1956). An English edition has been published since 1956. Circulation, 2,500 (1973).
