Oracle State Park Location: In the northern foothills of the Santa Catalina Mountains near the community of Oracle in southern Pinal County (about 45 minutes from Tucson). Facilities: Visitor and education center, a 7-mile section of the Arizona Trail, historic ranch house, picnic area, restrooms (é) Activities: Picnicking, birding, hiking, biking, horseback riding, nature study, educational programs, guided tours. Special Features: Purpose of the park is to act as a wildlife refuge and environmental learning center. It contains a variety of native plant communities, interesting geographic formations, wildlife resources, and the historic Kannally Ranch House. The park's environmental programs are available to schools and organized groups; these educational programs must be scheduled in advance.
