ORB disk
A high-capacity removable hard disk system from the former Castlewood Systems, Inc., Pleasanton, CA. Introduced in late 1998 with a capacity of 2.2GB and a 12MB transfer rate, ORB drives used magnetoresistive (MR) read/write head technology. Castlewood was a private company founded by Syed Iftikar, the founder of SyQuest and co-founder of Seagate. The company declared bankruptcy and ceased operation in 2004. See magnetic disk.

ORB Cartridge
Castlewood pushed the removable storage envelope further with its ORB drive, which was introduced at $199. Its $29.95 cartridges were considerably lower than the competition.
