Ordu

Ordu (ôrd`), city (1990 pop. 101,306), capital of Ordu prov., N Turkey, a port on the Black Sea. Copper, zinc, and iron are exported. It is the site of Cotyora, founded by Greek colonists, c.500 B.C.
Ordu 

a city in northern Turkey, on the Samsun-Trebizond highway. Administrative center of the il (province) of Ordu; population, 39,000 (1970). Ordu is a port on the Black Sea. It is the commercial center of a region producing filberts and soybeans. There are food (oil and tea) and sawmilling industries. Complex metal ores are mined in the region.
