Oresund

Øresund 

(The Sound), a strait connecting the Baltic Sea and Kattegat Strait between Scandinavia and Sjaelland Island. Øresund is 70 km long and 3.4–24 km wide; the maximum fairway depth is 8 m. The Danish city of Copenhagen is situated on the western shore of Øresund, and the Swedish port of Malmö on the eastern shore. A railroad ferry connects the two cities.

INTERNATIONAL Marketing of the Oresund Region (IMO), an organisation set up to market the Scandinavian Oresund region, is to sponsor Virgin Media's online travel section with a new microsite targeting young, upmarket travellers.
Linked by the Oresund bridge to Copenhagen, from next month the city will also have the cutting-edge Malmö sports and music arena.
The new quarter will integrate existing sport's facilities and benefit from its unique setting between a recently developed coastal park and beach along the Oresund and the City's historic ramparts.
