Ortenberg, Arthur (1926–  ) fashion executive; birthplace unknown. A textile designer and fashion consultant, he married Liz Claiborne in 1957 and together they founded Liz Claiborne, Inc., in New York City (1976). As secretary, treasurer, and cochairman, he insured that prompt delivery and quality control were hallmarks of their company, which rose to the Fortune 500 list within a decade. After their retirement, they established the Liz Claiborne and Art Ortenberger Foundation (1989) to support environmental causes.
