Oryzopsis
a genus of perennial herbs of the family Gramineae. The genus includes one species—Oryzopsis asperifolia. The plant is loosely tufted and has broad leaves that are pubescent below. The inflorescence is racemose and narrow. The spikelets are one-flowered and borne by stalks. The lemma has overlapping margins and an awn at the apex. The ovary has styles that are grown together almost its entire length. O. asperifolia grows in mountain forests of North America. The genus Piptatherum is often included in the genus Oryzopsis.
