Osborne House

Osborne House, a favorite residence of Queen Victoria, near East Cowes, on the Isle of Wight, S England. The queen died there in 1901. The state apartments are open to the public.

In "Victorian Gardens", garden historian and expert Caroline Holmes showcases many restorations and recreations of Victorian gardens ranging from the Osborne House on the Isle of Wight (Queen Victoria's country home), to Biddulph Grange in Staffordshire, and Down House in Kent (which was home to Charles Darwin).
She is the co-author of Victoria and Albert: Life at Osborne House and Travels With Queen Victoria and has written books on health and storybooks for children.
