Osbourne, Lloyd

Osbourne, Lloyd (1868–1947) writer; born in San Francisco. He was educated privately and at the University of Edinburgh. Appointed vice-consul of Samoa, he served in that post until 1897, then settled in New York City. He and his stepfather, Robert Louis Stevenson, collaborated on The Wrong Box (1889) and several other novels. Although he continued to write fiction, Osbourne's work is largely unknown today.
