Oudinot, Nicolas Charles (nēkôlä` shärl dēnō`), 1767–1847, French soldier. A veteran of the French Revolutionary and Napoleonic Wars, he was created marshal of France (1809) and duke of Reggio (1810) by Napoleon I. He served as governor of Holland from 1810 to 1812. After Napoleon's first abdication Oudinot gave his support to Louis XVIII. He commanded the national guard during the Hundred Days Hundred Days, name given to the period after the return of the deposed French emperor, Napoleon I , from Elba. The Hundred Days are counted from Mar. 20, 1815, when Napoleon arrived in Paris, to June 28, 1815, when Louis XVIII was restored for the second time as.....
