A broad, outspread flat or gently sloping alluvial deposit of outwash in front of or beyond the terminal moraine of a glacier. Also known as apron; frontal apron; frontal plain; marginal plain; morainal apron; morainal plain; outwash apron; overwash plain; sandur; wash plain.
