Born in the 860’s; died 931. Armenian church and political figure, historian, and writer. Ovanes Draskhanakertsi became a catholicos in 897. A supporter of strong, centralized authority and an apologist for the Bagratids, he is the author of Chronology of the Armenian Catholicoses and History of Armenia (up to 914).
