Ovoscope
an instrument used in candling to determine the quality of eggs. An ovoscope is also used during egg incubation to monitor the development of the embryo. The instrument consists of a housing with a light source inside and oval openings. The eggs are placed at the openings in the ovoscope and are illuminated, thus enabling qualitative examination. A table ovoscope with an illuminating unit is used for candling eggs in trays. The table is equipped with shelves on which trays of eggs are placed; the eggs are illuminated from below.
