Pag (päg), Ital. Pago, island (101 sq mi/262 sq km), in the Adriatic, off the Dalmatian coast, Croatia. Noted for its fine embroidery and lace, it also has vineyards, a fishing industry, and bauxite deposits. The chief village is Pag, a resort on the eastern coast; it has a palace and a cathedral from Venetian times.

an island in the Adriatic Sea, part of the Dalmatian Islands; belongs to Yugoslavia. Area, 287 sq km. Pag extends for 60 km along the Balkan Peninsula, across from the Velebit Mountains, which rise abruptly from the coast. Composed primarily of limestones, the island is hilly and has elevations to 348 m. Boras frequently occur. Mediterranean vegetation predominates. There are orchards and vineyards in the closed valleys. Sheep are raised, and inland waters abound with fish. The main city is Pag.
