PC compatible

Also found in: Wikipedia 0.04 sec.

A misguided reference to a PC. The term IBM compatible is more accurate, because IBM made the first PC. Even that has little meaning today, because Intel and Microsoft set PC standards. The correct way to refer to a PC is to call it a "PC." See PC clone.
