PC printers

PC printers
There are hundreds of printer models that work with PCs and plug into the PC's parallel port or USB port. Many come network ready and plug into a network switch or hub. Some printers have built-in wireless, enabling them to be located wherever there is an AC outlet.

The most popular printers are inkjet and laser-class printers. Dot matrix printers are still used for printing labels on continuous forms and for multipart forms.

Inkjets and Lasers
Inkjet printers provide reasonable text quality and excellent graphics. They are slower than laser printers, but provide the most affordable color printing. Monochrome laser printers provide finer text quality and are suited to business applications. Color laser printers are generally slower than their monochrome counterparts and more expensive, but generate superb output. See printer.
