PCI Mezzanine Card

(hardware)PCI Mezzanine Card - (PMC) A family of low profile mezzanine cards for VMEbus, Futurebus+, desktop computers and other computer systems with logical and electrical layers based on the Peripheral Component Interconnect (PCI) specification. PMC is defined in IEEE P1386.1 and follows the Common Mezzanine Card (CMC) mechanical specification.

PCI2.0 defines a 4.2 inch by 12.3 inch board that plugs perpendicularly into a mother board.

In addition to improved performance, the Model 745/132L features expanded application-specific I/O capabilities for factory-floor and real-time control, including four industry-standard EISA or PCI slots; four additional PCI Mezzanine Card (PMC) devices are optional.
The MM-71xx PMCs can be utilized on PowerPC([R]) and x86 Single Board Computers, Altivec([R]) DSP boards, A/D converters, graphic engines or any carrier that has a PCI Mezzanine Card (PMC) site.
