Packard Bell Electronics, which dominates the American market for home computers but has not been consistently profitable, announced Tuesday that it would merge with the foreign PC operations of the NEC Corp.
The notebook, which combines sleek design with a rich collection of handy features, uses the EntrePad[R] AES1610 sensor from AuthenTec and is the second product from Packard Bell in just four months to integrate the AES1610.
AuthenTec, the world leader in fingerprint sensor innovation and sales for more than five years, announced that Packard Bell selected the company's EntrePad 2501A sensor to be embedded into the Packard Bell iXtreme Gold Keyboard, which is specifically designed for the consumer market.
