Paint Spray Gun

    0.01 sec.
Paint Spray Gun

an apparatus for coating surfaces with varnish or paint. Spray guns that use compressed air for atomizing and spraying paint are called air guns. Paint spray guns, which operate by centrifugal force, are called mechanical spray guns. Air guns are more widely used. The main assemblies used in spray painting are a paint compressor and a housing with a handle and a nozzle through which the paint mixture is sprayed.

Paint spray guns are either low-pressure or high-pressure. The former develop pressures of up to 90 kilonewtons/m2 (kN/ m2), or 0.9 kilograms-force/cm2; the latter develop pressures greater than 90 kN/m2. In the USSR, spray guns are manufactured in three standard sizes, capable of covering 50, 300, and 600 m2/hr, respectively.
