Paints and Varnishes

    0.01 sec.
Paints and Varnishes

liquid or paste compositions used to produce paint and varnish coatings. The main components of paints and varnishes are film-forming materials. Most paints and varnishes also contain solvents, pigments, fillers, and various special-purpose additives, which provide the desired properties of both the materials themselves and the resulting coatings. The materials may be colorless or colored, as well as transparent or opaque (having covering power). Transparent materials include drying oils and varnishes; opaque materials include primers, sealers, and paints.
