Pal Vasvári

Vasvári, Pal 

(pseudonym of Pal Fejér). Born 1827; died July 6, 1849. Hungarian political figure and historian, participant in the Revolution of 1848-49 in Hungary.

Vasvári propagated the ideas of Utopian socialism. On Mar. 15, 1848, along with S. Petófi, he headed the popular uprising in Pest. From the beginning of the liberation war (September 1848) against the Hapsburgs, he fought at the head of a detachment of the popular militia. He died in battle.
