Palms Book State Park Location: At the northern terminus of M-149, north of US 2 at Thompson. Facilities: Picnic area (é), concession/store, observation raft and a trail leading to it (é). Activities: Nature study; hunting. Special Features: Park features the state's largest freshwater spring, Kitch-iti-ki-pi, the Big Spring, which measures 200 feet across and 40 feet deep. More than 10,000 gallons per minute gush from fissures in the spring's underlying limestone. A self-operated raft guides visitors to vantage points overlooking underwater features.
