Pandekta

in ancient Rome, works by major jurists in the form of short extracts from the laws and the works of earlier writers.

The Pandekta that constituted the second part of the Codification of Justinian (they are usually called the Digest) became widely known. The Pandekta were regarded both as legal codes and as textbooks.
