Parsons, Betty (b. Pierson) (1900–82) art dealer, painter; born in New York City. She studied painting and sculpture privately, lived in France for many years, and then worked as a director for several galleries (1936–46). In 1946 she established the Betty Parsons Gallery in New York City and was an early promoter of the abstract expressionists.
