Pashkov, Istoma
(also Filipp Ivanovich Pashkov). Dates of birth and death unknown. Russian political figure of the early 17th century. In the summer of 1606, Pashkov headed a movement of servitors from the deti boiarskie (second-rank nobility) of the Elets-Tula region, leading a group of insurgents in an attack on Moscow. In October 1606 his detachments joined with the troops of I. Bolotnikov outside Moscow and besieged the capital. During the decisive battle of Nov. 27 or Dec. 2, 1606, however, Pashkov’s detachments went over to the side of V. Shuiskii’s government forces. Pashkov’s fate is unknown. REFERENCESmirnov, I.I. Vosstanie Bolotnikova 1606–1607, 2nd ed. Moscow, 1951.Want to thank TFD for its existence?
