Pop change: 2000-20005 9.70%; 1990-2000 11.50%. Pop 2000: 34,897 (White 56.40%; Black or African American 40.00%; Hispanic or Latino 1.20%; Asian 0.90%; Other 2.20%). Foreign born: 2.30%.
