Paulauskas, Modestas-Iuozapas
Born Mar. 19, 1945, in Klaipėda (Memel). Soviet athlete; teacher. Honored Master of Sports (1967). As a member of the USSR national basketball team, Paulaskas was European champion four times between 1965 and 1971 and world champion in 1967. He was captain of the Soviet team, whose members included S. A. Belov, G. G. Vol’nov, I. I. Edeshko, A. I. Polivoda, and Z. A. Sakandelidze, that won the Olympic basketball tournament in 1972.
