Pawnee State Recreation Area Location: 3 miles north and 2 miles west of Emerald. Facilities: 199 campsites (68 with electrical hookups; 102 camping pads), modern restrooms, showers, picnic areas, 2 picnic shelters, trails, food concession, 3 boat ramps, 4 docks, fish cleaning station, 2 swimming beaches. Activities: Camping, boating (all types), fishing, swimming, hiking, mountain biking, hunting, wildlife viewing. Special Features: Area has the second largest lake in the Salt Valley. Four docks provide easy access to the lake and good fishing for northern pike, walleye, largemouth bass, bluegill, and catfish.
