Pedernales Falls State Park

Location: 32 miles west of Austin on US 290.
Facilities: Campsites with water and electricity hookups, primitive campsites, group camp, showers, restrooms, picnic areas, hiking trails, nature trail, bike trails, bridle trails, park store.
Activities: Camping, fishing, swimming, tubing, hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, interpretive programs.
Special Features: Pedernales Falls is the park's main attraction, formed by a series of tilted "stair steps" of layered limestone, descending about 50 feet over a distance of 3,000 feet. An overlook at the northern end of the park affords a scenic view of the falls.
