Penas

a gulf of the Pacific Ocean off the coast of southern Chile, between the Taitao Peninsula in the north and the island of Guayaneco in the south. It is approximately 80 km long and approximately 65 km wide, with a maximum depth of 146 m. The large island of Javier is situated in the gulf. Tides are irregular and semidiurnal and measure as much as 1.6 m.
