People’s Committee of North Korea
the supreme executive body of people’s power in North Korea from February 1947 to September 1948. It was subordinate and accountable to the People’s Assembly of North Korea. In 1947 the People’s Committee of North Korea adopted the first national economic plan in the history of North Korea; the plan was successfully carried out. The People’s Committee relinquished its authority when the government of the Korean Democratic People’s Republic was formed.
