Pervomaiskii

 

an urban-type settlement in Arkhangel’sk Oblast, RSFSR, under the jurisdiction of the Isakogorskii raion soviet of the city of Arkhangel’sk. Located on the left bank of the Severnaia Dvina, 12 km from the Isakogorka railroad station. Population, 34,200 (1970). The settlement has the Arkhangel’sk Pulp and Paper Mill, a furniture factory, a plant that produces reinforced-concrete articles, and a combine that grows plants in greenhouses.


Pervomaiskii

 

an urban-type settlement and administrative center of Pervomaiskii Raion, Kharkov Oblast, Ukrainian SSR. Railroad station (Likhachevo) on the Kharkov-Lozovaia line. Population, 19,400 (1974). The settlement has a chemical combine, a machinery-repair plant, and a plant producing rein-forced-concrete structural members. The local food-processing industry includes a butter factory and other plants.

Industrial enterprises include the Shchekino Chemical Combine, a wood-products combine, and a synthetic-fiber plant. Pervomaiskii has a heat-and-electric power plant.

Pervomaiskii has a plant producing cement and a combine manufacturing asbestos-cement articles. There is an industrial construction-materials technicum in the settlement.

Pervomaiskii has a plant that builds machinery for the chemical industry, a milk plant, a meat-packing and poultry-processing plant, and a flour-milling combine.

Population, 10,000 (1970). Industries include the Irtysh Chemical and Metallurgical Plant and a factory for artistic embroidery. The settlement has a chemical and metallurgical evening technicum.

Pervomaiskii has two sugar refineries, a brickyard, and a grain combine. It also has a sovkhoz for fattening animals and a fruit-nursery sovkhoz.

Industries include a match factory, a fur factory, and a building-materials combine.


Pervomaiskii

 

an urban-type settlement in Orenburg Raion, Orenburg Oblast, RSFSR. Located on the Donguz River, a tributary of the Ural, it has a railroad station (Donguzskaia) 25 km south of Orenburg. There is an experimental farm of the All-Union Scientific Research Institute for Raising Livestock for Meat.
