Petoskey State Park Location: In Emmet County, 1.5 miles north of Petoskey off US 31 on the north end of Little Traverse Bay. Facilities: 168 modern campsites (é), mini-cabins (é), organization campground, picnic area with a 1-mile beach, playground, beach house, hiking trails, paved bicycle path nearby (é). Activities: Camping, swimming, hiking, cross-country skiing. Special Features: Park is located on Little Traverse Bay and features a beautiful sandy beach. Old Baldy Trail, one of two trails that run through the park, includes a stairway that leads up a stable dune (Old Baldy), which is one of the park's attractions. The view of the bay from the top of this dune is spectacular. Park is also a great spot to hunt for Petoskey stones.
