Petrich

Petrich 

a city in extreme southwestern Bulgaria, in the Blagoevgrad district. Population, 22,000 (1970). Petrich is linked by railroad with Sofia. Situated at the foot of the Belasica mountain range, it is a popular tourist center. It has machine-building, tobacco, canning, and garment enterprises. There are large greenhouses in the city.
