Phase Correction Unit, Telegraph 

a control unit in the receiver of a start-stop telegraph. The unit makes it possible to achieve in-phase operation of the distributors of the transmitting and receiving apparatus in order to prevent distortion in recording the coded combinations of a message. The unit establishes the optimum instant for recording each pulse unit of a received coded combination; this instant corresponds to the middle of pulse duration.
