Photographic Telegram

(Russian, fototelegramma), an image of a flat handwritten or typewritten text, plan, or photograph transmitted by means of facsimile communication. In the USSR the term fototelegramma is used only for facsimile messages from individuals and organizations sent by post offices under the Ministry of Communications of the USSR (in contradistinction to similar information transmitted by the Telegraph Agency of the Soviet Union [TASS], the Novosti Press Agency, hydrometeorological services, enterprises, and organizations).
