Porous structures of the resin was characterized using an automatic physisorption analyzer ASAP 2020 (Microme-ritics Instrument, USA) by BET and BJH methods through [N.
On the basis of heat of adsorption, activation energy and the experimentally observed increase in inhibition at low temperatures, a physisorption process is proposed for both benzaldehyde thiosemicarbasozone compounds and halide ions.
In physisorption, vander waals forces exist between adsorbent and adsorbate molecules which implies low amount of energy, hence the adsorbed molecules can still retain its identity.
