The use of green plants to manage or reduce high levels of soil and groundwater contaminants.

Phytoremediation

Low-cost option for site cleanup when the site has low levels of contamination that are widely dispersed. Phytoremediation (a subset of bioremediation) uses plants and trees to break down or take up contaminants.
