Pièze

a unit of pressure and mechanical stress in the meter-ton-second system of units (mts system). Its international abbreviation is pz. One pièze is equal to the pressure produced by a force of 1 sthene acting uniformly on a plane of 1 m2 that is normal to the force; 1 pz = 1,000 newtons/m2 (N/m2, or pascals) = 0.0102 kilogram = force/cm2 (kgf/cm2). The mts system is no longer used, and the pièze is not one of the current Soviet standards units.
