Picker Stick

 

the part of a loom that transmits motion to the shuttle by means of the picker. The picker stick is made from a hardwood, such as beech or hornbeam, so it is able to withstand repeated and shifting loads. It may also be made of layers of birch veneer glued together with synthetic resins.
