Pictograph Cave State Park Location: In Billings on I-90 at Lockwood exit, then 5miles south on county road. Facilities: Picnic area, trails, vault toilet, interpretive displays. Activities: Hiking, wildlife viewing. Special Features: The Pictograph, Middle, and Ghost cave complex was home to generations of prehistoric hunters, and more than 30,000 artifacts have been identified from the park. A short paved trail allows visitors to view the ancient rock paintings still visible in Pictograph Cave. Site is a National Historic Landmark. The park is open May 1 through September 30.
