Winters are mild, with an average January temperature of — 2°C, and summers are warm, with an average July temperature of 20°C. Annual precipitation totals 600 to 800 mm.
There are thermal hydrogen-sulfide springs (Trajan, Patria, Krato, and Torkoš), whose waters are used for therapeutic baths and for irrigation and inhalation; they are also used in swimming pools. The formula of the water from the Trajan spring is
