Size: 185 acres.
Location: Two miles northeast of downtown; enter on Park Drive off Monroe Drive.
Facilities: Picnic areas with pavilions, gazebo, bathhouse, lake with fishing pier and dock, swimming pools, trails, botanical garden, stage, playground, ball fields, sports courts, leash-free dog area, visitor center.
Activities: Fishing, swimming, tennis, baseball, softball, volleyball, soccer, running, recreation and environmental programs.
Special Features: A part of Piedmont Park's acreage is occupied by Atlanta Botanical Garden which features tropical, desert, and endangered plants from around the world. Guided tours of the park are offered by volunteers from Piedmont Park Conservancy on Saturday mornings, April through October. In November 2006 the park completed a two-year, $1.8 million renovation of its field complex. New features included in the renovation included new softball and soccer fields, regulation-size sand volleyball courts, and a running track.
