Piercy, Esther June (1905–67) librarian; born in Los Angeles. A graduate of the University of Illinois Library School, she spent ten years in the cataloging department at the University of New Mexico (1934–44). At the Enoch Pratt Free Library in Baltimore she planned a complete recataloging and reclassifying system, which became a model for schools and small public libraries. |
