Pigeon Point Light Station State Historic Park Location: On Highway 1, 20 miles south of Half Moon Bay and 27 miles north of Santa Cruz. Facilities: Historic structures, youth hostel, visitor center, hiking trails, picnic areas. Activities: Guided tours, fishing, hiking. Special Features: Set on a cliff on the central California coast, the 115-foot lighthouse is one of the tallest in the US. It is currently closed for restoration, but the grounds remain open. The restored lighthouse keeper's house is operated as a youth hostel.
