Pobeda Peak was first ascended in 1938 by L. A. Gutman, E. I. Ivanov, and A. I. Sidorenko of the Soviet expedition led by A. A. Letavet. The summit was named in honor of the 20th anniversary of the Komsomol. In 1943, Soviet topographers headed by P. N. Rapasov determined the true elevation of the summit, which was named Pobeda Peak. By 1973 the peak had been ascended 144 times.
