Born Jan. 14, 1936, in Krasnoe Selo, Leningrad Oblast. Soviet athlete (kayaker). Honored Master of Sport (1964). Teacher. As a member of various crews, Pinaeva won many USSR championships (21 between 1960 and 1972), European championships (nine between 1961 and 1971), world championships (five between 1966 and 1971), and Olympic championships (in 1964, 1968, and 1972).
